If you have read my books—or follow this blog regularly—you will know that I advocate daily meditation practice. I strongly believe in the benefits of practising meditation for a short period of time every day. Giving oneself a few minutes of quietness and focus every day can be life-changing.
I came across an article today that supports this view. Some struggling schools in San Francisco have implemented ‘Quiet Time’. A gong is sounded twice a day for Quiet Time. The article does not mention how long Quiet Time lasts, but the benefits have been extraordinary. Anti-social behaviour has reduced, as have suspensions, there is less truancy, and academic achievement has improved dramatically. Read the article at SFGate.
