The weather is extremely lively at the moment in Wales. Apparently I slept through an incredible storm in the early hours of Saturday. The clouds have been really interesting over the last few days. Great billowing formations of what I believe are cumulonimbus have been appearing in our sky. These sorts of clouds I usually associate with a more open landscape than city suburbs, and I don’t think I have ever seen quite such large and impressive formations above my home before.
At times the weather is bright and sunny, and then suddenly it will hammer down with rain. The rain was extraordinarily heavy this afternoon and our house gutters simply could not cope. I actually really enjoy such lively weather. It is one of the delights of living in Wales. There is always variety and you never know what the weather will be like later in the day, or even in the next hour. I do hope the extremes of rain and storms will have passed on by the end of the month however, as we have our yogic encampment retreat. I’m not sure any tent would have succeeded in keeping out the power of the downfall we witnessed this afternoon.
We have been sorting out our garage and loggia today. We have not been able to frequent the municipal dump for a number of years because camper vans have to be booked in advance. As we never knew when we might wish to dump some rubbish, this scheme did not function for us and junk had rather accummulated. Now that we are no longer owners of a camper van, but have a regular car, we can visit the dump as often as we like. Consequently we did three trips last Sunday and one today. We also have a bunch of stuff sorted out to go on Cardiff Freecycle. We are so organised that we have been able to move our trailer tent off the driveway and into the garage. It will be great to know that it is always dry. An unexpectedly pleasant benefit to this is that our lounge feels brighter and more open because the trailer is no longer parked in front of the window.
