Missing Robert

I am feeling sad today.
I feel as though my life has paused.
This morning I received the news that a very dear friend died during the night.
He lost his battle with cancer.
He was only seventeen years old.

Robert was an extraordinary young man and a pleasure to visit while he was in hospital.  I greatly appreciated his dignity and poise, and his continued good humour throughout his ordeal.  I am glad that he was able to go home and spend his last days with his family, and die peacefully in his own bed rather than surrounded by the impersonal hospital bustle.  I feel privileged to have known him and he will always be remembered.

Goodbye dear Robert.

  1. thank you for sharing the news of Roberts passing and the beautiful picture. I never had the pleasure of meeting him, but my heart goes out to his family and close sangha. May we all be so fortunate to be surrounded by so much love and bodhi, and may we all bring our presence and compassion to the liberation of all beings near or far . . . Emaho!
