Austria and local conference

Things have been very busy over the last couple of weeks and there has been no free time to post.

The weekend 23rd - 25th September we were in Austria teaching.  On the Friday evening we taught at the Shambala Centre in Vienna.  We gave a general introduction to practice in the gö kar chang lo.  This was well received.  It was quite moving to be in the Shambala Centre and feel the presence and influence of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche so strongly.

On the Saturday we gave a day of teachings in Forchtenstein, about an hour's drive from Vienna.  Here the topic was The Four Fundamental Certainties and the Path of Alignment - alternatively known as The Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path.

Both events were well attended and people seemed to enjoy themselves and find something useful to take away.  We have been invited back to teach again next year.

Last weekend a conference entitled Unity and Diversity: Monastic and Non-Monastic Traditions in Amdo took place practically on our doorstep.  As practitioners within a non-monastic Tibetan Buddhist tradition, this conference interested us greatly and we were fortunate to be invited to attend as observers.  More on that in the next post.
